The secret to happiness: resurrection?

29 Mar

I’ve written quite a bit this week about happiness levels, and the factors that affect it. One of the things that affects my personal happiness levels is time off from working, which I’m doing today in light of Good Friday. Oh happy day!

Since Easter is a time when Christians celebrate the resurrection of Christ, I thought it might be appropriate to share the video below. It details some of the Soviet experiments into resurrection back in the 1930s. Enjoy!

This experiment is trivial when you compare it with the first heart transplant done by Christiaan Barnard in 1968. On the other hand the ideology of the Soviets was to get rid of individualism in favor of communism, the group.
The resurrection of Christ is only a metaphor for the pagan cult of spring.

I agree with Marc – but i think we would have a very difficult time teaching that to the masses who continue to fight over said metaphor, but one can always hope.
