And now, some net neutrality levity

15 Nov

While we’re waiting for Tuesday’s decision by the CRTC on the drama that is usage-based billing, I thought a chuckle or two might be worthwhile before the seriousness arrives.

First, there’s the ever lovable Ask a Ninja explaining net neutrality. If you still don’t know what it is, well, the ninja does a passable and quite funny job of explaining it:

And secondly, here’s an even funnier video. It’s funny because of how scary it is. I must admit to missing this 30-second anti-net neutrality ad from the U.S.-based National Cable & Telecommunications Association when it first made the rounds in 2006, so I had to look it up to make sure it was actually real. Sure enough, it is. Wow. Just wow.

Aye! Wow… that’s right up there with the kind of absolutely insane propaganda Hollywood would create for some film intended to polarize the film’s tyrannical oppressors as the bad guys in the eyes of the viewer.

Too bad most people aren’t the person watching film looking at that along side the good guys lives.
